What you’ll do
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of accounting tasks, including data entry, payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to grow their accounting career.
- Monthly preparation of sales invoices (and ad-hoc, as per business needs) and reconciliation with invoicing schedule.
- Daily review of received payments from customers and updating internal reports of overdue invoices.
- Daily upload of financial documents to external agencies (AR, Expense reports, Bank statements).
- Review of financial transactions in the accounting system (AP, AR, Payroll posting, Expense reports, Bank statements).
- Communication with external agencies regarding financial documentation, data entries and other.
- Preparation of AP and AR financial reports weekly.
- Perform account reconciliations for bank statements on a weekly basis.
- Perform weekly payments (and ad-hoc, as per business needs) in Halcom and other platforms (UK and US market).
- Sending documents to the bank for payments in foreign currencies to non-residents in Serbia.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes (Prepayments, Accruals and Review of GLs and Cost centers).
- Opening new fixed assets in the accounting system and sharing information with agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Assisting with VAT and other tax obligations.
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting department, as needed.
What you’ll need
- Previous accounting or finance experience (1-2 years).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other finance tools.
- Knowledge of accounting software (D365 Business Central / Navision, preferable) is nice to have.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
